Citizens of India will be eligible to visit many European countries even for tourism, as European countries’ visa application centres located in India have resumed their work, offering different visa services, after remaining temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 situation.
“VFS Global, the visa outsourcing and technology Services Company, has issued an update on visa application services in India. Due to the lockdown/curfew restrictions announced in some states, select visa application centres are temporarily closed in certain cities,” the company has announced through a statement, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.
According to the VFS’s statement, the following European visa application centres in India have started to offer their services for a short-term visa;
- Belgium- New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kochi and Hyderabad,
- Croatia- New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Bengaluru,
- Denmark- New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kochi,
- Citizens of India are now eligible to apply for a long-term visa in the following European countries,
- Belgium- New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kochi and Hyderabad,
- Croatia- New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Bengaluru,
- Denmark- New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kochi,
- Ireland- Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Jalandhar, Chandigarh and Delhi.
The following European countries are also offering visa services for the category C and D, from which could Indian citizens benefit.
- Austria- Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru
- Estonia- C visa applications with prior approvals Kochi, Chennai, Hyderabad,
- Bengaluru and Kolkata
- Germany- Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Bengaluru, Kolkata
- Latvia- Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai
- Lithuania- Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad
- Switzerland- all cities
- Poland Category D- Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, New Delhi and Kolkata
- Portugal- D6 (Family Reunion), Seaman, Student and Embassy approved cases- Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, New Delhi and Kolkata
Even though the Coronavirus pandemic pushed the countries to temporarily freeze the visa issuance or led visa application centres to offer a limited category of services, the following European countries are now issuing all types of visa services.
- Belarus- Mumbai and New Delhi
- Sweden- Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, New Delhi and Kolkata.
VFS Global has announced that some European countries have also started to resume their visa application centres abroad in order to facilitate the travel process.
Recently Switzerland announced that its visa application centres in foreign countries, which temporarily suspended their services due to the Coronavirus, have resumed their work.
Poland will soon welcome citizens from the Philippines as it decided to open its visa application centre in Manila, which at present is offering Schengen and long-stay national visa services.
