International students and temporary foreign workers with profiles in Ontario’s EOI system were invited to take the next step toward Canadian immigration.
Ontario held a new round of invitations on September 21, inviting 995 to apply for a provincial nomination.
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) invited candidates who had profiles in the Expression of Interest (EOI) pool. Candidates may have qualified for one of two Employer Job Offer streams.
A total of 406 were invited who may be eligible for the Foreign Worker Stream. These candidates needed a score of at least 37. It was a general draw so there were no targeted occupations, nor location requirements for this draw.
Another 523 were invited to apply for a nomination in a general draw through the International Student Stream. These candidates needed an EOI score of at least 61 in order to be invited.
The OINP also issued 66 invitations to immigration candidates who were registered for the Regional Immigration Pilot and may qualify for the same two Employer Job Offer streams. Of these invitations, 36 were issued to foreign workers, and 30 went to international students.
