Australia has recently announced the reopening of its borders for international students and skilled workers from December 1, 2021.
In addition to this, it has clarified the rules for international students and onshore temporary migrants willing to leave the country. All these were clarified by the Australian Department of Home Affairs.
The Prime Minister of Australia, Scott Morrison, has announced that fully vaccinated travelers need not apply for travel exemption before entering the country. This will be effective from December 1, 2021.
The Department of Home Affairs, on November 23, 2021, has updated all these details in its website for international students and other temporary migrants.

Before, it was unclear about onshore temporary migrants traveling to their home countries, but on November 23, 2021, it clarified all these by updating them in the website.
It simply stated that “migrants with temporary visas can leave Australia at any time. In contrast, it will not allow them to return to the country without an exemption.”
But if the temporary visa holders are not included in the new arrangements. In this case, they can easily apply for inward exemption before they leave the country if they meet the inward travel requirements.
Australia from December 1, 2021, fully vaccinated visa holders can enter Australia without any travel exemption. Travelers should receive COVID jabs that are Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved. They also need to submit their negative COVID-19 PCR test result three days before they departure. They should provide proof of vaccination along with these.
Travelers should follow all the quarantine measures in their respective states or territory upon their arrival.
On November 22, 2021, Qantas announced a new flight to India and the route from Melbourne-Delhi from 22 December. The flights from Melbourne to Delhi will be via Adelaide, while the flights from Delhi to Melbourne will be nonstop. The Melbourne-Delhi will be four times a week for the whole year.
