In November, alone it invited more than 47,000 new permanent residents to Canada. This is the third month in a row from IRCC, where it invited more than 40,000 new immigrants to Canada.
It landed more than 361,000 immigrants in the first eleven months of this year. This appears to be very likely to reach the 401,000 immigrant targets by the end of this year.
The advent of the Omicron variant might complicate the efforts which are given by the IRCC that focuses on transitioning within Canada to permanent residence to achieve its goal.
An individual will be allowed to land after seeing their legal status officially and converting it to permanent residence in the country. Besides this, it usually occurs when a foreign national would arrive from overseas and gain permanent residence.
Canada mainly focused on transitioning the temporary residents to permanent during pandemic times. Canadians are less likely to experience COVID-related disruptions during the process of acquiring permanent residence.
