IELTS Indicator is an online test that gauges the English proficiency of the test taker in Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. The IELTS Indicator has been launched for students that cannot attend an IELTS test center due to COVID-19 restrictions. Bookings for IELTS Indicator test have already begun from 22nd April. Students will receive their test results within 7 days.
The online IELTS test indicator will be made available in select locations where it is not possible to deliver in-person testing for IELTS at the moment. In such locations, the online IELTS Indicator test will be delivered once in a week at specified times as per schedule.
IELTS Indicator is not intended to replace the IELTS as such. IELTS Indicator results can be used by educational institutions for assessing students’ applications during the period wherein in-person testing has been suspended due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Students appearing for the IELTS Indicator test will be conducting their Speaking test via video call with a trained IELTS Examiner. The marking of the tests will be done by official IELTS Examiners.
Do keep in mind that as the IELTS Indicator is an indicative score only, it might not be accepted by all organizations. Always check with your educational institution or university before booking your slot.
The IELTS Indicator test will be available for a limited time only, that is, till the IELTS Testing is suspended due to COVID-19.
Before you book your IELTS Indicator test, make sure you have a quiet and comfortable place for you to take the test online. Do keep in mind that you will require either a laptop or a desktop computer. You cannot give the IELTS Indicator test on a tablet or mobile.
Additionally, you must have headphones or speakers connected to your computer. This will be required for the Listening module of your test.
A microphone will be required for the Speaking module.
And last but not the least, ensure that you have a stable internet connection.
